Originally produced and directed by Arnold Leibovit, "The Puppetoon Movie" features newly created opening and closing stop-motion sequences starring Gumby, Pokey, and Arnie the Dinosaur, introducing ten of George Pal’s brilliantly crafted animated shorts. This Limited Collector’s Edition includes over 2 hours of bonus features, highlighted by the all-new documentary "The Puppetoon Movie: A Legacy Revisited," featuring interviews and commentary from legendary filmmakers, animators, and historians including Joe Dante, Peter Lord, Phil Tippett, Dennis Muren, Floyd Norman, and Bob Kurtz. The documentary explores the creation of "The Puppetoon Movie" (1987) while celebrating the artistry and legacy of George Pal. Also included is the exclusive 10-minute documentary short "Peter Lord on George Pal." Contributing artists include Ray Harryhausen and Willis O'Brien, with music by Louis Armstrong and Peggy Lee, and voice performances by Mel Blanc, Paul Frees, Art Clokey, Dallas McKennon Victor Jory, Rex Ingram and others. This beautifully restored Collector’s Edition also includes a 28-page color booklet and rare bonus material celebrating George Pal — the sci-fi fantasy film legend whose Puppetoons helped pave the way for modern animation.
